先日、福島県から繭（まゆ）が届けられました。
The other day, cocoon has been sent to my workshop from Fukushima（Northeast of Japan）. About 80 years ago, Japan was famous exporter of raw silk made from the cocoons. So, we have very good quality cocoons (kinds of silkworm) even now. I want to make the yarn from cocoons of traditional Japanese silkworms.
This is a cocoons.
いよいよ〝座繰り（ざぐり）〟にチャレンジしようと思っています。ちなみに、「座繰り」とは、繭から糸をたぐりながら糸枠（いとわく）に巻きとることです。そう!! ついに繭から糸を作ろうって魂胆(こんたん)です。さて、僕にできるんだろうか!? どうぞ楽しみにしていてください！
I want to challenge reeling raw silk by hand. By the way, I am going to use Japanese traditional wooden machine for reeling raw silk. Look forward to!!
ちなみに、これが座繰り機です。
This is a instrument for reeling filament by hand, called a hand filature.
