“Vicia sativa” that appears everywhere in the field every spring. This is a weed. But 、I can’t hate those leaves of tender green of and lovely flowers. If I leave it alone, the field will be covered immediately, so I have to cut it.
I have knew that this plant would be a dye. But I hadn’t dyed with this yet.
I want to try dyeing this year! And I tried. The results are as follows.
Vicia sativa grows to a height of 60-150 cm in spring. You can see this everywhere in Japan.
I took it in Osaka on April 5, 20 ’20. Silk is beautifully colored with titanium mordant. Wool is also good. Untreated cotton barely dyes. The robustness has not been confirmed.
・The rows are dyed cloths “silk” “wool” “cotton” “cotton (cation-treated)” from the top.
・The columns are mordanting agents “aluminum” “iron” “copper” and “titanium” from the left.
