Hello, everyone! I’m Kaki. Recently, the winter is getting colder and colder，please pay attention to your health.
On January 21, while COM was refurbishing the store, I visited Sabae-shi, Fukui Prefecture, which is famous for the “City of Glasses”. Growing up in the south-central part of China, I cannot fully adapt to the cold in the north. But I had a very meaningful time because I was able to get close contact with the Japan’s glasses manufacturing industry. Next, I will share you my journey through a few episodes.
Well, follow me on this journey!
In order to avoid the traffic jam during working hours, we set off from Osaka at 6 in the morning. The sky was totally dark at that time, and the chill was much more bitter than usual. However, as we get closer to Fukui Prefecture, the sky was getting brighter.
Soon, the snow began to fall, just like the first sentence written by Kawabata Yasunari in “Snow Country”, “The train came out of the long tunnel into the snow country”,the moment we cross the tunnel, I feel like I was in another world. The snow around me was full of the unique taste of Japan. I was surrounded by the unspeakable emotions, and completely forgot the coldness.
However, the reason I came here cannot be forgotten. Next time, let me share with you what I saw and felt when I visited the glasses factory.
See you next time!
