At Hitotsuya(ひとつ屋), we cleared neglected land, planted mulberry trees, and trained with a sericulture farmer. Even after all that, our “Hitotsuya Silk” project failed again and again. We had harvested cocoons before, but many were small or uneven in size and weight, and they were still not what we hoped for.
“I want to create original silk products at Hitotsuya!” Ten difficult years have passed since I began holding on to that rather ambitious dream. At last, we have harvested cocoons whose quality and weight genuinely satisfy us!
The following year, we plan to raise five to ten times as many silkworms as we do now. Please look forward to what comes next!
