A rose-like pale cream flower has opened on precious extra-long-staple cotton preserved in Japan and grown in Iga. We record the journey from seed to “Hitotsuya cotton.”
Imported Sea Island cotton seed tested positive for GM cotton and had to be destroyed. The experience led us to grow extra-long-staple cotton preserved in Japan and begin developing “Hitotsuya cotton” in Iga.
