ひとつ屋の古民家工房【Hitotsuya old folk house workshop】

In addition to the actual store in Osaka, there is a “dyeing and weaving farm” in Iga City, Mie Prefecture. And it is an old folk workshop where we cultivate plants only related to dyeing and weaving. Here, plants are grown with organic fertilizers and pesticides, and “sustainable manufacturing” is carried out using miscellaneous trees and bamboo generated by the maintenance and management of satoyama as fuel. We also hold workshops where you can experience traditional dyeing and weaving in Japan (* Please contact us individually for the membership of workshop at the old folk house workshop)

On this page, we would like to introduce about [hitotsuya old folk workshop].

The old folk workshop of Hitotsuya is located in Iga City,Mie Prefecture. It is a very peaceful place where we can see the original scenery of Japan which remains still. Here, we get to enjoy all four kinds of season while we are working hard to create different products for the Hitotsuya. And by the blessings of the surrounding satoyama we can cultivate any types of plants related to dyeing and weaving which are used in Hitotsuya Dyeing and Textile Farm.

On this page, we will introduce the stage of our manufacturing with photos.

▼There is a large furnace and a sink, where plant dyeing is carried out.

▼ We use wood and bamboo from the maintenance and management of the satoyama as firewood (fuel).
