Japanese indigo flowers are in bloom.
先日、近畿地方を襲った台風21号にもめげず、ひとつ屋染料農園では藍が花を咲かせています。いつもの年なら花が咲く前に刈り取って染料として使うのですが、今年の夏はとても忙しかったうえに地震や台風、豪雨など一部で刈り取る時期を逃してしまいました。

The typhoon that struck around Osaka the other day is not blown, and flowers of Japanese indigo is blooming in my garden. I will reap and use it as a dye before flowers bloom in the usual year. But this summer I was very busy. Moreover, there are earthquakes, typhoons, torrential rain, etc., in Osaka and I missed the time to reap the indige.
ちなみに、藍は一年に2～3回収穫することができます。しかし、一度でも収穫した藍は花は咲いても種ができないそうです。今年は一度も収穫しないままに花を咲かせてしまったので、このまま育てて種をとることにします。
By the way indigo can be harvested 2 to 3 times a year. However, even once even harvested indigo can not get seeds even if flowers bloom. Since flowers bloomed without harvesting this year, I will nurture this and get seeds.
毎年、園芸店で種を買っていますが、来春は自家製の種がまけそうです。そのためにも、まずは種の収穫を頑張ります！
